Dodecanese
The southeastern Aegean, close to Turkey. Rhodes, Kos, Symi, Patmos, and the volcanic Nisyros. Turquoise bays, medieval architecture, and fewer crowds than the Cyclades. Excellent for combining Greek and Turkish waters.
Best season: May to October. Warmer and less windy than the Cyclades.
